Payment Terms;

Deposit Payment:

€300.00 is payable within 48 hours after receiving your successful application email.  This deposit is then refundable 6-8 weeks after the end of the academic year less damages or missing items. Wear & tear is taken into consideration but excessive damage is payable by the student. A full statement of account will be issued to each resident through their Student Portal to coincide with deposit return.

Payment of deposit can only be made online through the student portal.  Each applicant is provided with their own individual Username and Password to access the Glasán Student Portal. It is only through this Student Portal that residents will be able to make their Moiety payments for their accommodation.

All new residents will be issued with a full inventory & maintenance check list once moved into the accommodation.  The onus is on the new resident to return this check list within 7 days in order for them not to be liable for any items damages/missing items that may have occurred prior to your check in.

Moiety Payment:

All Moiety payments to include electricity/bill management fee and utilities will be due to be paid in full on or before the 15th January 2021 after the initial deposit payment has been made.  Failure to make payment by this date may result in your room being cancelled and offered out to the next applicant on the wait list.

Electricity / Bill Management Fee:

An electricity prepayment and bill management fee of €200.00 is made per applicant and is payable along with the 1st Moiety. Each house/apartment is  metered for pre-pay electricity, and is topped up over the course of the academic year. Our current prepay provider is Pinergy. The pre-pay meters allow students to monitor and have greater control over their electricity usage on a daily basis. In the unlikely event that a house/apt runs out of electricity credit between top-ups they simply report this to management/security who will provide them with a top-up card, allowing the students to purchase additional credit from a local Paypoint shop. At the end of the academic year if credit remains on the meter this will be reimbursed equally among all residents in the house/apt.

Utility Payment:

A non-refundable utility fee of €149 is payable for the semester and is included in your Moiety payment amount above. This fee covers satellite TV, refuse, TV licence and WIFI.

Cancellation Policy:

If the applicant wishes to cancel the accommodation, the applicant must cancel by email by close of business on or before the 15th January 2021. Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted.

In the event of cancellation by the aforementioned date, a €100 cancellation fee will be deducted from the booking/damage deposit and the remainder refunded. Refunds will be issued by bank transfer only. If the applicant cancels after the cut-off date outlined above, no refund will be issued and the full €300 deposit will be retained.

After check in, any electricity prepayment applied to the pre-paid meter cannot be refunded.

Please note that when a student leaves, management has the right to move another resident into that student’s vacant room.  If this occurs, however the student must still find a replacement for the room which is vacant.

Methods of Payment accepted are:

Payments can only be made by credit/Debit card, most major credit cards accepted.  Cash payments not accepted.

Lease Agreement:

A standard Lease Agreement is entered between the student & their Landlord.  The tenant is obliged to follow the terms and conditions of the Village Rules, which outline the Rules & Regulations in place for the development and which forms part of the licence. It is a requirement that all students residing at Glasán MUST have a signed Lease. The Lease is available within your student portal and residents will be emailed once it is available to read, print and sign. It must be signed by both Tenant and their Guarantors and sent back by email to [email protected] before you check in. On receipt of the signed lease and rental payment, apartment and room keys will be issued on arrival during arranged opening office hours, which will permit access to the allocated room.  Access will not be granted without a fully signed Lease Agreement when checking in.

Wi-Fi access will not be issued until the signed Lease Agreement is returned to the office.

Checking In & Key Collection:

Semester 2 check in will commence from 12pm Friday 15th January 2021.  You do not have to check in on this date but you must check in during office opening hours.  A key card will be issued on arrival which will permit access to the allocated house/room.  An email will be issued prior to this date with further details.
