Criminals Targeting Students

Please be aware that even though Galway is a relatively small city and generally a safe place to live; it does come with the problems of city life, such as assault, burglary and theft.

Please be responsible for your own personal safety, the safety of others and the security of your house/apartment when residing in Glasán.

Criminals target students for offences including burglary, theft and assault. Local criminals know Glasán as a student  campus and may target the site. These are opportunist and can identify specific times such as Thursday nights, weekends and holidays as their prime time.

It is your responsibility to ensure your house/apartment is secure at all times. In the event of a break in call the Guards immediately.

Please ensure your front, back, balcony doors and windows are not left open/unattended during the day or night. Please note that on site security is not the arm of the law.
